Feel is what makes a cars character. It lets the driver know what the car,”wants”. Improving a cars character is an approachable, cheap beginning to modifying your car.
Lets just assume you want your car to feel lively rather than refined and smooth.
The first thing that can/should be done is remove sound deadening. Doing this will allow you to hear the engine, transmission, and chassis. Also lightly affecting acceleration and handling depending on how much can easily be removed. The most attractive part of this modification is that its free, given you have a flathead and some time.
Once you want to spend money I’d suggest buying solid motor mounts and stiff bushings. Technically this wont make you faster but it will give your car theater. On my car I noticed an increase in stiffness in the first 45 seconds with solid rubber torque mounts. They will make your entire car vibrate but once your moving the the engine can be felt through the seat, pedals, and steering wheel. This communication makes the drive that much more addictive, but in city conditions its just annoying, especially when coupled with no sound deadening. The stiffer bushings restrain the suspension geometry from changing midcorner allowing for more confidence and response. Predictable responce in emergency conditions is paramount, and bushings deliver. Its also been my personal !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! that they allow parts to move rather than break. Meaning; where a stock bushing would be pushed to metal on metal and all the force is transfered to whatever the bushing is mounted to, the bending of important things is likely whereas stiffer bushings would take much more force to get to that same bending point. A bunch of other things can be done to improve feel but I hace experiance with these modifications and may as well share.
.that is all, have some images.

It’s a mish mash of Turn In Concepts, STi Group N, and Powerflex. The hard part is figuring out how to get the old bushings out, I don’t own a press and the differential crossmember is too big to fit in one anyways.

Torch, screw driver, and some sort of heat shield as needed. Or the expensive route: Mechanic\machine shop.

I can feel the fuel running from the tank to the engine. I like it, kind of like its pulse.
